Consistent Dice Mechanics proposal

1. Just exploding dice rather than black red blue

2. Attacker's dice total modified by attacker status: damaged ship reduces the number of attack dice; augmented increases 

3. Intervening modifiers such as terrains changes to hit requirements (5+ required rather than 4+)

4. Passive defense like cloak reduces number of hits automatically (cloak X reduces hits by X)

5. Active defense (modulating shields and PD) rolls defensive exploding dice to reduce number of hits

all those rules basically say V2, accept your proposal for terrain and cloaks, which I don't think are the right solutions.

with set amount of blocked hits in cloaks, you may as well call it retractable plating +X

The intent was to keep it simple as well as consistent

with players actively rolling dice only on the attack or actively modulating his defense
